Aluminum Truck Racks, Designed in Canada

ORO Racks started with a problem and a camping trip.

In 2016, we were planning a three-week camping trip and set out to buy a rooftop tent. Our old Ford Ranger had no roof rack, so we needed a bed rack that could carry the load. What we found was overpriced, single-purpose, and almost impossible to buy in Canada.

So we built our own.

That first rack wasn’t fancy, but it did the job. After the trip we refined the design, built a second one, and before long friends and fellow overlanders were asking for their own. That was the beginning of ORO Racks Inc.

What We Make

We design aluminum truck bed racks, roof racks, MOLLE panels and propane mounts for overlanding, camping and work trucks. Our racks carry rooftop tents, awnings, fuel, recovery gear and whatever else your trip calls for, and the modular design means your setup can grow with you.

Our Bed Bars work with almost every style of tonneau cover, so you don’t have to choose between a covered bed and a loaded rack. Load bars on our Elite Series bed rack are rated to 350 lb dynamic and 900 lb static.

Why Buy from ORO Racks?

• Canadian-Made Quality 🍁
Designed and built in Ontario, not overseas, by people who use this gear themselves.
• Aluminum, Not Steel 🪶
Lighter on your truck and your fuel bill, and it won’t rust through after a few salty winters.
• Modular & Trail-Tested 🔧
Mount your tent, fuel, recovery gear, awnings and more, and add to it as your rig evolves.
• Made for Canadian Conditions 🌲
Built for harsh winters, remote logging roads and long hauls coast to coast.

Who We Are

We’re Sean and Melissa, a husband-and-wife team in Ontario, and ORO Racks is ours. Sean designs every product, drawing on 11 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and a background in aluminum sheet metal design. We still test our gear the same way we tested that first rack: loaded up and taken somewhere far from pavement on a family trip.

Running a small manufacturer also takes a lot of software nobody sells off the shelf, so Sean built our inventory, order and customer systems himself. That work grew into SB Hero, a separate company that builds websites, Shopify apps and SEO for Canadian businesses. The inventory system first built to run ORO is now available to other Shopify stores as Epic Inventory.

Built for the Backcountry. Proven on the Trail.

We don’t just build racks, we use them: deep backwoods, muddy trails, and long hauls across this country. Whether you’re building a weekend warrior or a full-time rig, ORO Racks is here to help you gear up, get out there, and make the most of every trip.
