What are we building on?
Select your truck so we match rails, clamps, and bed length exactly.
What are you mounting?
Pick everything that applies — we'll size the rack for the heaviest job.
Is your tent's footprint larger than your bed?
Check your tent's closed dimensions against your bed length. Oversized tents change where the rack needs to carry the load.
Do you want the tent to extend over the cab?
Oversized tents can hang off the rear or carry forward over the cab. Over-cab setups need a cab-height rack for clearance and support.
Do you run a tonneau cover?
Cover style determines how and where the rack clamps — this is the #1 fitment mistake we prevent.
How tall do you want the rack?
Low profile keeps the center of gravity down; cab height maximizes clearance and over-cab capability.
Low profile — Daily drivers and minimalists. Gear rides just above the bed rails: lowest center of gravity, best aerodynamics, easiest garage clearance. Not a great fit if your tent is longer than your bed.
Mid height — The all-rounder. Room for gear in the bed underneath your rack, and most of the tent is still tucked below the roofline. This has been our most popular rack height.
Cab height — Maximum clearance and flexibility. Taller gear below, over-cab capability, and the most room to grow your setup.
Pick the one that sounds like you — we’ll spec the rest.
How truck bed rack height works
Every ORO Elite Series Bed Rack comes in multiple heights, and the right one depends on how you use your truck day to day. Low profile (6″) setups use our Bed Bar System V2 — a factory-like stance with the best tonneau cover compatibility, ideal for daily drivers, bikes, and over-bed tents. Mid height (12″) is our most popular option: gear clearance under your load with a low centre of gravity, better parking-garage clearance, and improved fuel economy versus taller setups. Cab height (19″–25″) is the most versatile — larger tents, awnings, canoes, and long loads extend over the cab and run the full length of the truck instead of hanging off the tailgate.
Before you order a cab-height rack: measure from your bed rail to the cab roofline. On mid-size trucks, 19″ clears the roof on most vehicles (but not the antenna) and 23″ is ideal if you're also clearing a roof rack. Full-size trucks run 23″ or 25″. The fit finder above walks you through it — or email us your measurement and we'll confirm before you buy.
Tonneau cover compatible bed racks
You don't have to choose between your rack and your tonneau cover. Inside-mount soft roll-ups (Truxedo Pro X15, Lo Pro) pair with every ORO rack. Sit-on-rail folding covers work with our tri-fold mounting brackets, and T-slot retractable covers (Retrax XR series) mount directly to our T-Slot Tonneau Mount rack — the mount kit is included. The fit finder flags any compatibility issues for your exact combination before you order.

Bed rack fitment FAQ
What height of bed rack do I need?
If you're mounting a rooftop tent over the bed and want a factory-like stance, go low profile (6″ bed bars) — it also has the best tonneau compatibility. Mid height (12″) fits most builds — gear storage under your load without the bulk. Choose cab height (19″–25″) if your tent sits over the cab or you carry loads longer than the bed. The fit finder above recommends the exact height for your truck.
Will a bed rack work with my tonneau cover?
In most cases, yes. Inside-mount roll-up covers pair with everything we make; on-rail folding covers use our tri-fold bracket kit; and T-slot retractable covers mount directly to our T-Slot rack. On-rail soft covers pair with the Bed Bar System rather than the full rack — the fit finder catches this automatically.
Can I carry a rooftop tent on an ORO bed rack?
Yes — that's what they're built for. Over-bed tents work at any height; over-cab tents need a cab-height rack. If your tent is longer than your bed, we'll flag overhang considerations before you order.
What trucks do ORO bed racks fit?
Tacoma, Tundra, F-150, F-250/F-350, Ranger, Maverick, Silverado/Sierra 1500 and HD, Colorado/Canyon, Ram 1500 and 2500/3500, Gladiator, Frontier, and Titan — with model-specific mounting for each generation.
